Weekly Obsessions 1.4.26

 

Welcome to the first Sunday of 2026. You will hear me say 2026 a lot this month. Because that is the major topic of January, the beginning of the New Year. Let us take a peek at what I have been a bit obsessed with this week.

Family

My dad-in-law came to visit us for New Year's Eve, and we made Black Eyed Peas, Collard Greens, Cornish Hens, and German Potato Salad. Had a few drinks with my mother-in-law. My dad-in-law stayed until midnight struck, and it was simply wonderful! That’s when I realized again how important family is. Seeing kiddo talk to my dad-in-law for hours explaining things in her books and games, from me sharing a German New Years tradition with my in-laws, which in the 18 years I’ve been married to their son, I somehow haven’t done haha. It was just a great night with family and gooooood food!

Blind Tiger Coffee

When do I not obsess over Blind Tigers Coffee?? I always get the Café BonBon, and it is so delightful. I could drink it every day, but it is also good that it’s a bit of a drive to get there, because otherwise my wallet would be drained pretty fast. I have to figure out how to create it at home, or at least something similar.

Shantel Tessier Chaotic

Chaotic is coming out in a few days, and I have had it preordered since it was announced and put on the Amazon store lol I love the Spade Brothers, and I love the Lords series. My favorite so far is Madness. Warning, though, it is very, very spicy as it is a dark romance. Please read the trigger warnings before deciding to read it!

Character Creation

I am deep into DnD at the moment and have been coming up with different characters I want to create. Some are based on people I know who would be perfect characters for a campaign. I am thinking about one specific person here, haha, I have talked about him before. I worked with him; he is an incredible person and has talents one might not think he has. He is a Kung Fu master, and oh boy, I am looking forward to creating this character based on him!

Popmart

Oh, I am obsessed with Popmart, but they are so expensive. I want to buy so many blind boxes, but I just can’t. I went in the other day to get another Little Prince Box, but sadly, I couldn’t find it. So I was a wee bit sad.  Okay, as I was typing this, I did a quick Google search and found that Amazon has them as well. *Sigh* Should I or should I not??
