1 Thing I am looking forward to in 2026

 

There is one thing I am looking forward to this year, and that would be my best friend visiting from the UK! This year she will be here for my birthday, and I am so incredibly excited for it.

We met about 8 years ago on an online fan board for a K-pop group called NCT. Back then, it was a site called Vlive where there was a board/chat thingy you could comment on and just talk with each other. I still have many good friends who have come out of this experience, but the friendship my bestie and I have is simply something else. We instantly bonded, and I was looking forward to seeing her online, and it would just make my day better. We eventually exchanged phone numbers and would text every single day! We call each other sisters because our bond is so strong. My kiddo even calls her aunt. While I would always be cautious in the online world, I have really found a gem.

Last year we met for the first time in person, and it was amazing, we had so much fun together, even got a matching tattoo, but the time simply flew by too fast. I have been missing her every day. Don’t worry, we still talk every day, but having her here was so good for me; it’s just different when you see someone in person than only texting. Much like when my family comes to visit, or I visit them, you can text every day and still miss them, and it’s absolutely okay.

I am already planning her visit to see what we can do and how we are going to celebrate my birthday. I still have a few months of waiting to do, but knowing that she will be visiting again makes it all worthwhile 😊
