LED Collar for your Pup
Hello friends,
Now that I have a younger dog again who likes to go outside
more, I often find myself walking him for his bedtime walk in the dark.
Especially this time of year when it starts getting darker much earlier.
When Tokki, who you will meet on Wednesday, was still a
puppy and needed to go outside every few hours, I needed something where I could
spot him easily in the dark, but most importantly where cars could spot him,
since he is a black dog. Well, he has turned more silver as he has gotten older
but when he was a puppy he was completely black.
I tried one of those clip-on lights but that just wasn’t
working for him as every time it bounced against him, he turned around to get
it. So, I found a rechargeable LED Collar! * Not Sponsored or Affiliated* What
I really like about this one is A) it’s rechargeable via micro USB and B) you can cut it to size of your dog. This particular collar comes in the length of 24.5 inches which you then cut to the size of
your dog’s neck. It was pretty simple to do.
We have now had this collar for 2 years and it is still
working like a charm, had to recharge a few times but that is it. Tokki also
doesn’t mind the collar and looks like a disco dog on his walk. We’ve been
stopped by other dog owners in our neighborhood inquiring about the collar and
where we got it because they had been looking for some as well.
Safety is incredibly important in the darker months of the
year. Making your dog more visible to cars and other people can only benefit
you. I like being able to see him better as well in the dark, even though I
also walk with a flashlight because I need to see the toads on the sidewalks
and the grass. Tokki is a pup who will try to eat them so trust me I have my
hands full with him ha ha ha
If you want to get the same collar I got here is the link,
but as you know Amazon has many options. If you can find an LED Collar at your
local mom and pop pet shop I suggest doing that as it is always better to
support local small businesses but if you can’t do that or do not have one in
your town or yours doesn’t carry LED
Collars, I absolutely understand that Amazon is always an option.
