Airport Fashion

Airport Fashion
Having flown a decent number of times and 98% of all my flights have been overseas. Let me tell you that this collage I made looks scarily accurate to what I wear when flying. Besides the cute Ryan bear stuff, my stuff isn't that cute unless I can get my hand on some Kakao Friends Merch.

A little fact I can't fly in Jeans! I get so uncomfortable I rather wear some type of sweatpants. So much more comfortable especially during long-haul flights.

I always wear a sweater, I get cold in planes usually at least and I try avoiding the airplane blankets just because A. I heard horror stories and B. I've seen some that haven't been very clean. So I rather just be able to keep myself cozy. 시즈니들 will understand why I chose a Banana Milk sweater. :)

I actually own the exact NewBalance sneakers as in my Collage and they are super light and super comfortable! They will definitely be used on my next flight, I bought them after my last flight so sadly I couldn't use them. Also, I like to wear shoes that are easy to take off and put on. While I love my Converse, I hate holding up the line at the airport, that's why I tend to avoid wearing shoes I need to tie. Last flight I took I had purposely bought Converse slip on shoes and they worked fine. I just don't want to be an inconvenience to others.

I like to hide as much as possible after a long flight I mean you don't look the best after 10-16 hours on a plane, so a cap is always welcome, I have a cap similar to the one in the picture and absolutely love it, simply because it's different.

Backpack: Having a backpack is a must for me. However, I used to carry around a backpack and my purse fully packed with things I thought I'd need, keep in mind I was also traveling with my daughter. However, every time I fly I find out that I do not need 98% of the stuff I take along so the next time I fly it will only be my backpack. I always bring snacks because my glucose levels like to drop.

IPAD: Yes, I am that obnoxious person that has a 12.9 inch Ipad Pro. Why? Well, I used to always have the smaller ones but the more I got into drawing on it the more and more the smaller screen became inconvenient. So, the last time I got the bigger version and I also use the Apple Pencil because in all of my years having an Ipad it has been the most accurate stylus so far. I also like to watch my own movies and listen to music while on the plane. I usually get frustrated with the selection on the plane. Plus if I have my own I can add the things I know I like and the things that will help make the time pass by fast.

Headphones are also really important and I had my fair share of trial and error I enjoy in-ear ones the best especially the ones that cancel out noise, similar to the ones you'd wear on stage. I've used over ear ones and it's hard to get comfortable at least for me. Choose the ones you are most comfortable with.

I think a neck pillow or something to support your neck is super important, my first long-haul flight I didn't have one and let me tell you my neck was hurting for days, usually I wear a hooded sweater so I roll the hood up like a neck pillow but this Ryan bear one is so cute because it comes with a hood.

An eye mask is also important, I have been on too many flights that had rude people on it that would leave their reading light on, right in front of you even though they weren't reading! It's an overnight flight for a reason if you try to sleep on the plane and you get there in the morning it is so much easier to overcome the jetlag! Let's just say that I was glad I had a mask for my daughter and myself on our last overseas flight. So many people left their lights on. I just wanted to sleep, I think when you've flown a lot you learn a few tricks to withstand the jetlag and time difference.

A Mask, it's not very common in the US to wear a mask when at the airport or in public, however, I actually do it quite a lot and it was such a big help during the flu season last year. I will always wear my mask if I feel slightly under the weather or know that there is something going around again. And you know that there will be people who are sick at the airport. With so many people coming and going you are bound to catch something. Plus a mask helps when you don't wear makeup to the airport and are broken out! :)  Just saying, not because that's why I wear my mask when going to the store ha ha

If you all want to see what I would pack into my backpack let me know. Of course, you can't forget your passport and your boarding pass but I think that is definitely a given :)

I hope I could give you some ideas on how to be comfortable during a long flight and if you would like to see more travel tips and advice feel free to let me know!

xoxo, Nikki
