Celebrate Litha (Summer Solstice)

Summer Solstice is upon us this month, that means the sun will be at its highest peak and we will have the longest day and the shortest night. Summer Solstice also means that summer is officially beginning. I really want to celebrate it this year!

Visit a farmers market

I actually haven’t been to a US farmers market yet. So, I would like to change that and finally go visit one. I’ve been to fruit and vegetables stalls before but never a real farmers market with different people and stalls, at least not here in the US. Interesting to see how different they are from German farmers markets.

Screen break

I spend way too much time on screens, I am basically all day on my PC or my phone and would like to try taking a break from it which will be hard because that would also mean taking a break from talking to my dad, because we text each other all day until he goes to bed (Different time zones). Not sure how I feel about that, but I definitely want to at least not be on it as much as I usually am at least for a day or so.

Summer Playlist

There are songs in my head that remind me of summer during my childhood and how cool would it be to create a summer playlist with songs that embody summer? I think it’s a pretty neat idea and it is always good to have new playlists to play in the car.

Bake with Fresh Berries

Berry season is upon us, and I would like to try to bake with fresh berries. My initial try didn’t go so well, and all the blueberries sunk to the bottom of my muffins, that means I need to redeem myself and try again!

Make Ice cream

Making ice cream isn’t super hard so to welcome summer in, I would like to make some ice cream with the kiddo. It’s just a super fun activity to do.

Have a barbecue

I don’t actually own a grill, but I would really like to get hubby one and what better reason to get a grill than to need it for a barbecue? Summer is also barbecue season so we definitely need a grill for this year ha ha
