Get to know me: Extrovert or Introvert?

The question is, am I an Extrovert or Introvert? To me the answer is easy. I am a complete introvert, however, if you were to ask my husband, he would probably tell you that I am more of an extrovert. Because I seem to be beaming when outside and meeting people. I am easy to get along with and have an easy time talking to people. However, what he doesn’t see is how much people drain me. Just going shopping at the mall for example, I would like to go home and take a nap. It isn’t easy for me to talk to people I have social anxiety, but I still do it. Same as parties or get togethers they are hard for me to go to. Often, I think, I don’t want to leave the house, I rather just be home. Do I enjoy seeing and talking to people? Sure, I do but then I need to recharge for the next couple of days. Maybe I am more of a mix of the two, is that even possible? Welcome to my thoughts and helping me work through this ha ha. It is rather interesting that often I need to get out of the house because sometimes it feels like the ceiling is collapsing over me, almost like cabin fever, but after I am back from my outing, I am rather happy to be home with my dog. I like talking to people, but I also don’t and need to recharge my social batteries for a while afterwards. It is a weird cycle I go through, wanting to go out and do things but also really not, simply because I know how tired and exhausted, I will be afterwards. I think that it stems from my anxiety, I am constantly on high alert and that is what is draining me so much.

What are you an extrovert or an introvert? Do you get drained when talking to people or simply by being around people? I would love to know because I find this topic extremely interesting and I love seeing just how different people are.
