Happy Summer Solstice

Happy summer solstice and first day of summer!

Today we are celebrating the summer solstice. Today is the longest day and the shortest night but with summer officially having started, the solstice also means that our days are slowly starting to get shorter again. Because of the axis tilt of the earth, so enjoy these long summer days.

If you have never celebrated the summer solstice here are some easy ways to do so. A big way to do it is to hold a solstice party with drinks, good food, good friends, and fun games. But you don’t have to hold a party to celebrate the beginning of summer. Smaller ways are also to just go on a nature walk or have a picnic outside. Enjoy (carefully) the sun rays and the warmth or heat in our case the summer brings. Please be careful and don’t forget to wear sunscreen. Go berry picking and pick some delightful fruits that you can use in your baking or jam making.

Decorate your house with beautiful wildflowers and sunflowers. Create a beautiful sunflower wreath. Create some dried citrus ornaments and add these to your decorations as well.

Brew some delicious sun tea, if you have never done it, I highly recommend it. It is a lot of fun, takes a lot of time but it is worth every minute of it, and just feels like something extra special.

Now that summer has officially begun, we can’t forget to care for our outdoor plants, tend to them, water them and make sure they have all the nutrients they need, even repot and refresh their soil for a beautiful new start.

A nice way to end the day is also by having a bonfire and making delicious smores.

Enjoy the day and the beginning of summer.
