5 Favorite things about fall

 

For this post, let us pretend I don't live in Florida, ha ha. There are many things I love about fall; sadly, due to living in a hot climate, I don’t get to enjoy these things very much.

Crunchy and colorful leaves

I love the crunch of leaves under my feet. I also love the way the trees look once they turn different colors, it all just looks so magical. I just love the change in seasons; instead of just green trees, we get to see reds, yellows, and oranges. When they fall, and you are on a nice, cozy fall wal,k you get to hear the crunch under your feet. As kids, we used to collect them a lot, and I vividly remember an elementary school assignment to create a herbarium, and I got an A on it. Yes, I still remember that because it was one of my most favorite assignments of my school life.

Gloomy days and Cozy nights in

I love the fogginess of fall and the gloominess that fall brings. It is perfect for a cozy day under cozy blankets with a nice hot drink, whether that is coffee or hot cocoa. While I am a big coffee drinker, a nice cup of hot cocoa usually hits just right! I love the darkness, and just sitting in a comfy chair in low light watching a show or reading a book sounds absolutely perfect.

Crisp Air

Crisp air of fall mornings is something I definitely miss. I miss being able to see my breath, I miss wearing vests and cozy jackets. I just love bundling up. Wearing cute scarves and mittens while the air makes your nose a little red, as well as your ears. The way the air feels so fresh and oddly clean, perfect for deep breaths. I really do miss the change of seasons.

Comfort food time

The cool and crisp air is also perfect for some comfort food. Right now, what comes to mind is chili! Summer is just too hot to eat soups, stews, and chilis, but fall is just right, just like winter really! A nice bowl of a warm, soupy meal, yum! Perfect to warm up during the cold days and nights.

Halloween

I know we are still a bit away from Halloween, BUT fall brings us Halloween, and I couldn’t be more excited. I love Halloween, I love the spookiness, I love the decorations, and I love seeing all the different costumes that walk by our house. Halloween is just so much fun!
