5 Ways to Recharge your batteries after the Holiday
Thanksgiving is now over and it's time to think about
ourselves and recharge our batteries that we have depleted over the holiday.
Spending the day with friends and family can get pretty stressful especially
when it is your turn to make the food. Sometimes a holiday turns into the
biggest stress maker so on the day after Thanksgiving or even the weekend after
let’s make sure we take care of ourselves.
Read a book in a cozy nest of blankets and pillows while
drinking some nice hot tea, coffee, or even hot cocoa. Enjoy that book and let
the coziness give you a big hug. If you are not a big reader but like to listen
to podcasts or even like to watch YouTube videos do that today and bundle
yourself up in a little cozy cocoon.
Have a nice hot bath with a bath bomb or bath salts, and relax
those muscles that are all tight from all the stress. If you don’t have a tub or simply dislike
taking baths, take a nice hot shower and cozy up in a warm towel. Tip: Stick
your towel into the dryer before you take your shower and pull it out just
before you head under the water it will stay nice and warm for when you are
done.
If exercise is the way you recharge and de-stress go out on
a run or do some Yoga, take in the fresh air and relax. Or have a little dance
party at home it might seem counterintuitive to have a dance party to relax but
it is so much fun.
Drink plenty of water, because I am sure if you are like me
and get so focused on the task at hand you probably forgot to drink enough
water on Thanksgiving or you had some adult drinks that can all dehydrate so
it is time for hydration station 😊
Take this day to eat leftovers or just simple quick meals
don’t do major cooking that was something for Thanksgiving today we are
focusing on relaxing. However, if cooking is your way of relaxing, cook away 😊
There are many ways you can recharge your batteries; these are just a few ideas. What this post is meant to do is to remind you not to forget to take care of yourself during the holiday season, it is something that is easily forgotten but oh so important.
