5 Things I look forward to during the Holiday Season

The holiday season is quickly approaching not just Thanksgiving but also Christmas. The year is almost over, and time has just flown by. Here are a few things I look forward to with the upcoming holiday season.

Coziness

There is just something about the holiday season that makes everything seem so much cozier. I don’t know if it is because it gets darker so much earlier or all the twinkling lights you can see outside but there is just something so comforting about this season.

Cooler Weather

Florida still stays pretty hot compared to the rest of the country, but our humidity is much lower, and a few cold fronts will bring us cooler weather and I am enjoying it to the fullest. It is so much nicer out to go for a walk without sweating like crazy. Once the cold fronts come, I can even pull out my sweaters for the mornings and walk Tokki with a sweater on and that feeling just adds to the coziness.

Holiday Scents

The holiday season is the time of baking, but if you aren’t a big baker there are always candles that can help add the scent of the season to your home. I am particularly in love with Cinnamon, I honestly, could have the scent in my house all year round. Not to forget that around October/November the Cinnamon brooms are put out in stores which make the stores smell divine as well. The scent of freshly baked cookies and cakes are something to look forward to as well. I have to say it one more time COZY!

Advent calendars

My family celebrates Advent because it’s a tradition I brought in from Germany and trust me I still get a Chocolate Advent calendar even though I am 35 years old. Ha ha . I love getting up in the morning and opening the little door to find a little piece of chocolate behind it. But this year we again have an Exit The Game Calendar, where we will be solving riddles every day until Christmas, what a beautiful time to spend with the family working together on riddles.

Time Off

The year can get pretty hectic and stressful and as a homeschool mom, I feel like I never stop between teaching, keeping everyone fed (Yes, they are capable of making themselves food ha ha but I still make food), and cleaning the house. The Holiday Season for me means some time off, while yes, we homeschool, kiddo still gets some time off for the holidays which also means I have a little bit time off. Hubbster will have some time off too, so everything will calm down for a few days/weeks. I will have the chance to collect myself, recharge, and take a breather. Fully enjoying the holiday season.

Everything I have written down comes back to the word cozy. This holiday season make sure to take some time for yourself, take care of yourself, take a break, and breathe. The year is almost over and then we have 12 new chapters to write with 365 new opportunities. Cozy up in your home with a scented candle, a good book, some good food and just take time for yourself. Recharge those batteries 😊
