December mood board

 

Welcome to my December mood board. 

My mood board represents my feelings for the month of December. Wrapped up with a cozy blanket drinking hot cocoa while reading a good book and not forgetting to eat delicious cookies! When I was looking for images to use on my board, I was looking for images that created the feeling of coziness and the feeling of home. It’s hard to explain, but do you ever see pictures and get this feeling of comfort inside? This is what I was looking for. I absolutely love gold mixed with white and natural colors. There is just something rustic yet elegant within it. If I could decorate my house exactly how I wanted it, it would be a natural look with gold and white accents/décor.

 After finding the Christmas tree image, I wished I had gold ornaments. Our Christmas tree is more traditional red and white, very simple but I promised that I won’t change the theme every year like I have done before because we just decluttered our decorations last year and I am not trying to be wasteful or have so much stuff that we don’t know where to store it all. I also love the idea of a homemade advent calendar in natural packaging with elegant accents.

Not to forget that December is all about Lebkuchen! Lebkuchen is the German version of Gingerbread and honestly, even after moving away from home, I need my Lebkuchen in December ha ha It simply is my tradition that I don’t want to give up because it makes it feel like home and makes Christmas feel like Christmas to me. Luckily, we have a couple of Aldi’s around town, and they always get Lebkuchen in December since they are a German store. I love this mood board that I created, it makes me feel at home in a way.
